A little pricey, but fun for those reluctant crawlers who have always slept on their backs and aren't thrilled with "tummy time." The clear roof area allows them to look up and lets light in, so it's not a long dark tunnel like those for older kids. Someone/something intriguing needs to be on the other side so baby will want to crawl through. Included mat for the floor allows child to get traction and is easy on the knees. Wonderful item for mommy and tot playgroups. Not a necessity, but fun for an activity toy.

I bought this for my son's 1st birthday because he loves to crawl through/under/around things and all of the tent/tunnel things claim they are not for children under 3 due to small parts. I also decided on this because our space is limited and it seemed smaller.
It's a super cute tunnel. Very durable. He played with it for about 2 days. Loved the mirror I think the best. My 1 yr old is a bigger 1 yr old and it was really just a too late toy. That's my fault. I think I could have gotten this when he was 8 or 9 months and he would have had a ball.
So, assuming your child is at least 6 months and less than I'd say 11 months, they'll more than likely love it!

This tunnel really helped my one-year-old start crawling. If you have a reluctant crawler, try it out. Before getting this tunnel, my daughter would only move by scooting on her bottom in a seated position -- this tunnel isn't tall enough for her to sit up in, so she learned to crawl through on hands and knees. Going through a tunnel is more fun than crawling in the open, so it becomes less of an "exercise" and more like play. You can be waiting at the end or put a trail of toys or snacks through the tunnel to encourage them to try. I was also pleased with the little built-in mirror, because it wasn't like the "fun house" mirrors that are on a lot of baby toys. Instead it was a clear reflection that attracted my daughter and encouraged her to crawl through. The tunnel is cute and sturdy, with a convenient zippered carrying case for portability. There is a flexible wire frame that runs along the base of the tunnel on both sides and over each entrance, with a flat bottom to connect the walls. A telescoping stick is strung through the top to keep its shape. There is a removable mat that attaches to the bottom of the tunnel with Velcro, which I had to remove when she was learning because it would bunch up and cause her to trip. Once she mastered crawling through the tunnel, she still used it for hours of play. I am very happy we got this!
